Week Forty-Two 2013 – 52 Weeks of Lawn & Garden Maintenance – “Fall”… in love with your landscape

Dinner amongst the trees – wine with the roses and the waltz within the falling leaves.

Act as though it is your first meeting, when the clock strikes midnight you are still enthralled with the butterflies that dance within your belly. Captivated by every nuance every breath – your heart flutters within your chest. An hour feels as a minute and a day is fleeting, locked in this embrace. When you must part you leave a piece of you behind and as this separation wanes your thoughts cannot escape the magnitude those moments held. Your arrival once again unearths this passion within you. The wildness and freedom of these emotions obliterate any darkness that may dare gesture for your consideration.

Remember?

May Fall have you fall in love with your garden once again!

Love – Action speaks louder than words – Love is more than words

Give your garden/landscape some TLC

  • Keep the garden/landscape beds clean of debris
  • Feed trees to prepare them for their winter rest – Holly tone – Plant tone or the likes – follow the instructions on the product
  • Cut back perennials as needed – write in if you have a question of who or what
  • Get your lawn cut back to 2 ½” to 3” to protect against snow mold this winter
  • Keep your leaves mulched or bagged – only compost them if you are sure they do not contain unwanted fungus or disease
  • Set out bedding material for the birds who are getting ready to hunker down for the winter

Many things in life may inspire us, a garden is the perfect place to find inspiration, fall in love or simply Waltz amongst the kaleidoscope of falling leaves. Thank you dear friend – you know who you are – for this inspiration – I imagine you dancing within the leaves as you sing the waltz.
